An NSSA member has just submitted this article after spotting an article in Sunday Mail on 13 December, 2015. In December 1985 the Adelaide Casino opened on the former site of the Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace. The then South Australian Premier John Bannon AO, officially opened the Casino and tossed the first two pennies (Australian) in the two-up pit. The result of this first game appears to have never been recorded. The Premier was presented with the pennies that night by the Casino management and these coins later that month were donated to the Art Gallery of South Australia.
The pennies are dated 1928 and they had been gold plated by Bell & Brunt, manufacturing jewellers, James Place, Adelaide.
